Overview of Summary Data & Bar Charts:
Survey results were collected during the November - December 2006 time frame for 28 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs). Table 1. represents questions 1 – 17 with columns of Average Score values, Agree/Strongly Agree (%), Disagree/Strongly Disagree (%), and Number of Answered Provider.
Average score represents on a scale of 1 – 5 of overall satisfaction of providers that filled out the particular question. One (1) represents strongly disagrees and five (5) strongly agreed. For example on question 2, which asks if “New clinical personnel are adequately oriented to patient care protocols”, the average score is 4.00. This means that out of the 28 Critical Access Hospitals surveyed, overall “agreed” this is a practice that should be used. On this same question 82.14% of the providers agree or strongly agreed and 3.57% disagree or strongly disagree that new clinical personnel are adequately oriented to patient care protocols. The number of providers that filled this particular question was all 28 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) during the surveyed time frame.
Table 2. represents questions 18 – 23 with columns of Percentage (%) values, Not A Problem/A Small Problem (%), A Medium Problem/A Big Problem(%), and Number of Answered Provider.
On Table 1. those questions with an asterisk (*) denotes reversed scoring. For reverse scored questions, we want low percentages in agree or strongly agree columns and high percentages in disagree or strongly disagree columns.
On Chart 1. Patient Safety Survey Results: Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs)
